Our day began after an amazing sleep and a nice breakfast on the ship. Off we went to catch our shuttle from Livorno to Florence. The Shuttle took 1.5 hrs and
it was filled with beautiful countryside scenery. Once we arrived into Florence they let us off in Piazza Santa Croce – a short walk to see the Statue of David (16 mins) at the Gallery of The Academy. Definitely get your tickets in advance, the line up is about 1 – 2 hours if you do not purchase it ahead of time and is only a saving of 4 euro’s – definitely not worth it. We were in within 15 mins and were given 30 mins to enjoy! After Visiting David we decided to grab a bite to eat. We wanted authentic Italian Pizza, and that’s just what we got! Mmmmmm – it was so delicious! We ate at the “Ciro and Sons “ near the Medici Chapels (recommended by tourists we met). It was a 9 min walk from the Gallery of The Academy and the prices were quite reasonable. http://www.ciroandsons.com/index.php After such a filling lunch we needed to walk it off! We enjoyed many sights and shops by foot….it really takes less time to walk than to drive in Florence (photos to come on our return). After a full day we headed back to the ship. We were greeted with smiles and cool refreshments as we boarded the ship. We decided to sit and enjoy a glass of Vino before heading to our cabin to get ready for Dinner. The food was fantastic last night so we were definitely looking forward to dinner – and it did not disappoint! We sat with the same 3 fabulous couples that we met the night before. One couple has been on the Crystal Symphony for 2 months and has been having the time of their lives! It is so nice to sit back and listen to other peoples experiences and to also get
some tips for our next Port * Portifino*! Looking forward to my bed tonight! It was a long but beautiful day! Now for a night cap on our Verandah ahhhh…..
